Atlantic City Boardwalk Talk goes beyond Van Gogh – Play NJ | Candle Made Easy

When it comes to casinos in Atlantic City, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is the place to find who’s who of entertainment.

In addition to the sold-out Saturday Sam Hunt Concert, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (30th July), Alicia Keys (August 6) and Rod Stewart (19 Aug) coming soon.

Then there is Van Gogh. Yes, we are talking about the artist Vincent Van Gogh. Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience Summer residence is still running Sunday 28 August in the Seminole Ballroom.

Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Adult tickets start at $49.99.

What is special about this exhibition is how the paintings are brought to life through the use of state-of-the-art 3D technology and music. Consider it a much more insightful experience than your typical art museum.

During the last preview night, PlayNJ caught up fanny Curtat. She is art history consultant for the Beyond Van Gogh project. Curtat explains that putting together this immersive experience requires “a lot of people and a lot of time.”

“Mind you, we built everything in six months, which was pretty quick considering the scale of a project like this. It took knowledge from Paquin Entertainment Group and Normal Studio, who have the know-how of that black magic that makes everything work,” Curtat said. “And then they needed someone on the other end of the spectrum who knew more about the history of Van Gogh, and that’s where I came in.”

And what people may or may not realize is that the plans have come together during the pandemic. Therefore, social distancing and adapting to regulations in different places had to be considered.

“It was about bringing different skills to tell the story of Vincent’s work in a different and compelling way,” said Curtat.
