The Chad Hollister Band, Reggie Harris, Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem (pictured), Mikahely and the Modern Times Theater are among the acts featured this weekend Cabot Arts and Music Festival. Between sets, visitors explore Cabot Village Common’s wealth of craft vendors, food trucks, and fine art exhibits.
The title of “Scissors stone paper,” on display at Axel’s Frame Shop & Gallery in Waterbury is not to be taken figuratively. The “Rock” refers to watercolor artist Nora McDonough’s textured, robust paintings of precisely balanced cairns and Neha Shukla’s playful, intricate tissue paper collages rep “Paper” and “Scissors”.

Gifts from Baird Farm in North Chittenden Burgers, brews and alpine hikes for lovers of beef, beer and farm trips. Attendees eat a succulent, grass-fed patty from Hamilton Cattle and local beers from Liambru Tasty while chatting with the farmers who produced their food. After dinner, everyone sets off to explore the farmland and sugar house.

Geologists, gem collectors and anyone who wants to marvel at cool rocks gather at Essex Junction’s Champlain Valley Exposition for the 41st time Champlain Valley Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show. In addition to shopping for rocks and bones, attendees will enjoy a slew of lectures on topics ranging from copper mining to fossil hunting to the secret life of New Hampshire beryl.

Spectators at the brother-sister duo Levitt AMP St Johnsbury Music Series Shows at Dog Mountain are blown back onto their picnic blankets by the classic blues-rock musculature of hits like “Sugar and Spice” and “Run Away.”
